Annette Funicello is an American performer and actress. She is best known for her role as one of the original "Mouseketeers" in the show 'Mickey Mouse Club.' At the age of a teen she began her singing career. Her popularity grew due to songs such as 'Tall Paul' and 'Pineapple Princess. Annette was born in Utica to Italian parents. In her early years, she had a lot of timidity. In her quest to achieve success in her career as an entertainer, Annette began acting and dancing. In her role as the "Mouseketeer" in Disney sketches, Annette gained a lot of recognition in the 1950s. Annette was able to let go of the "Disney" persona that she developed as a child and take many different adult roles. Her most famous role was one of the very first actors to pioneer the "beach party" style of film. She was in films like "Pajama Parties", 'How to Stuff a Wild Bikini', and 'Beach Party'.
