In 2003, she played Marina Cooper on the Guiding Light. This character earned her a nomination at Soap Opera Digest Awards in 2003 for the Best newcomer. Dollar was Cindy Thomas, the ABC television show Women's Murder Club's main character from 2007 until 2008. The actress was on in the 2011 NBC pilot Happy Valley but it was not aired.
